Measuring neck size: how to find the right collar size

A collar can be as pretty as you like: if the size is wrong, it won't sit right. The good news: measuring takes less than 30 seconds.

How do you measure neck size correctly?

Place a soft tape measure loosely around your dog's neck, exactly where the collar will sit. Two fingers should still fit between the tape and the fur.

No tape measure to hand? Use a piece of string, wrap it around the neck and then measure it with a ruler.

Which sizes are there?

  • S: 19–26 cm neck size, for puppies and small dogs. Fixing rings for the letters are included.
  • M: 25–36 cm neck size, for medium-sized dogs
  • L: 34–52 cm neck size, for large dogs

All sizes are 1.9 cm wide and adjustable.

What if your dog is between two sizes?

Take the larger one. For puppies go for size S: the collar is adjustable and grows a little with them.
